Food has a major effect on how we look and feel. Too much sugar, gluten and inflammatory foods can wreck havoc and make us feel emotionally, mentally and physically depleted.

SPICY RAW KALE SOUP WITH PEPITAS
½ cup raw pepitas (pumpkin seeds)
3 cups fairly tightly packed kale
3 ½ cups water
3 tbsp lemon juice
1/4 cup apple juice
1/2 cup mashed avocado
1 tbsp peeled minced ginger
1/2 tsp sea salt
1 tsp diced hot pepper
1/8 tsp black pepper
½ tsp chili powder
1 tbsp olive oil
2 tsp tamari
1 tbsp minced cilantro
¼ cup minced red bell pepper for garnish
Place pepitas in a small bowl with ample water to cover. Allow to sit for 15 minutes. Drain ans rinse well.
Place all ingredients in blender except red pepper and cilantro and blend until creamy.
Transfer to bowls add cilantro and stir well. Top with red bell pepper and a few pepitas before serving.
