I was hunting for the perfect Red Shoe gift for You, the one thing you’ve always wanted. Then…magically… a short video landed in my inbox. I watched all 1:08 of it and knew this was it. Since starting the Red Shoe Zone 2 years ago and exploring the question of “What’s next?” I’ve come to realize that the biggest thing that gets in the way of becoming all we were meant to be is fear. Once it latches on it can keep us stuck, immobilized, living only a tiny part of our potential. It seems none of us are immune. So here it is–how to get rid of fear once and for all.
This is the simplest piece of advice I’ve ever seen. It comes from Elizabeth Gilbert – bestselling author of EAT, PRAY, LOVE and most recently The Signature of all Things. I hope it resonates with you as it did me.
Get rid of fear once and for all.
The follow-up is to express gratitude. This practice has transformed my life. Do it daily. In acute cases when fear strikes forcefully and unannounced go inward immediately, think of all the things you’re grateful for or simply repeat, “thank you, thank you, thank you” over and over. Do this until you feel the sensation of fear releasing its grip. You will also feel a softening of the heart and sense the corners of your mouth gently lifting. This takes about 30 seconds (seriously).
My wish for you…may love, joy, health and prosperity wrap around you and your family this holiday season and continue throughout the year. May this be the year you fearlessly step out and become all you were meant to be.
I’m cheering for all of us!
Wishing you the happiest of holidays,
With love and deep gratitude,
Cheryl
