The big work is done.
You’ve grappled with and rolled your eyes over the simplicity of the exercise …I know… but damn if it doesn’t work!
Finally, the last step making a Vision Board.
What you’ll need:
Foam, poster or cork board, scissors, glue and (push pins if using cork).
OR you can join Pinterest and create a pinboard online.
I’m low tech and like the crafty process of cutting and gluing it feels therapeutic and playful.
- Collect all images, quotes and words
- Cut
- Assemble on board
During this part I had flashes of insight several times as I moved the images and words around. More than once I went searching for additional material and each time the vision became more refined. I played with my board for a few days and made changes and adjustments. One day I looked at it and thought ‘this is IT’ — I glued. I propped it up right beside my computer screen. After a few days I made an addition, a small phrase that ‘popped’ into my head, made my heart beat faster and seemed to connect the whole thing.
Now that’s its done —-I’ll let it go —I won’t try to force, push or shove things into place….I trust it will all unfold in a natural order whatever that may be.
You know the most curious thing? Some people put the board away once it’s complete, many file it after a period of time and others will leave it out permanently. Interestingly, it doesn’t seem to matter what you choose to do. The most important part of a vision board is the process of creating it.
Over the years I’ve heard lots of stories of vision boards. People stumbling across them years later surprised to see how closely they resemble Life (me included).
Have Fun…..enjoy the process of creating your board and an awesomely wonderful future!
I’d love to see your Vision Board…when its finished take a pic…I’ll share it with everyone and we can all be inspired!
