Reclaim Glowing Skin
In this post Patricia weighs in with tips on how to create and maintain the sought after ‘glowing skin’ even through the harshness of fall and winter. I invite you to join the conversation.
Tips from Patricia the go-to Beauty Goddess
Cheryl: Is it possible to have luscious, glowing skin during the winter months?
PATRICIA: Absolutely! We layer our bodies with clothes as the temperature dips and we have to rethink our skincare too.
Also, using paprika based products to stimulate blood flow to your skin, acts as kind of like a spin class for your skin! This will jump start your glow getting all the nutrients right to the source, feeding your skin from the inside out, boosting collagen production.
Cheryl: What do we need to know in terms of our skin care regime and the products we use?
PATRICIA: In the winter months, think layers from light to heavy.
Start by doing a double cleanse. First melt the make up from the day (Stone Crop Cleansing Oil) followed by a deeper cleanser with added exfoliant such as the Mangosteen Daily Resurfacing Cleanser.
Spritz the skin with a hydrating tonique such as the Stone Crop hydrating mist and apply Birch Water Purifying Essence. Birch Water purifies the skin while botanical collagen plumps and deeply hydrates.
Follow this with your favourite serum, facial oil, moisturizer regime. My recommendation for skin over 50 is Strawberry Rhubarb Hyaluronic Serum, Rosehip C&E Firming oil and Coconut Corrective Moisturizer.
Cheryl: That’s my routine and I love it! I also follow your recommendation to add a few drops of oil to my coconut moisturizer.
PATRICIA: That’s great for added hydration especially in the fall and winter months. Don’t forget your final step… Sun Defense mineral treatment SPF to protect skin year round. This product is also like a magic eraser to hide any uneven skin tone. 1-2 x a week give your self a little extra self love by masking (Snow Mushroom and Reishi Mask is my new favorite! It’s super hydrating and detoxifying and helps to depuff the skin too.
Cheryl: That takes care of facial skin. What about the body that’s wrapped up under layers of warmth. How to keep body skin soft and supple?
PATRICA: Number one thing is keep ahead of the dry layers. Switch from showering to oil baths as often as you can. Applying a few capfuls of the Eminence Apricot Oil or the new Stone Crop Body Oil to your bath water softens the skin so when you dry off, the dead skin rolls off as well. You can reapply the apricot oil after the bath as well to give your whole body a glow!
Cheryl: Any other tips up your sleeve to get us beautifully through winter months?
PATRICIA: If you have a local spa that uses Eminence Organics … try to get there when you can. If you can’t get in to see an esthetician, take matters into your own hands by doing mini facials using the Arctic Berry Illuminating System. This kit contains approximately 10 professional strength peels plus moisturizer to brighten and smooth your skin. Staying ahead of your skin’s natural exfoliation process will allow all your products to penetrate deeper- thus continuing The Glow all winter long!
Cheryl: As always thanks for the fabulous advice Patricia!
