Wouldn’t it be amazing to live life fearlessly? To wake up feeling young and fearless and knowing exactly what you wanted to do with your life? Yes!
To live fearlessly we have to tame our fears and continue to sshh the inner critic that reminds us of them. Did you know that outside of rituals and habitual behaviors humans base almost every decision on fear: fear of rejection, fear of looking stupid, fear of being alone, fear of being laughed at and so on and so on? Fear keeps us closed and constricted —fearlessness opens us up to the best in life.
By the time we reach mid life we have years and years of fears—old fears, new fears all layering upon each other and resembling a small mountain. Time to dismantle this geographical wonder.
Good News! There are lots of ways we can try on fearlessness and see how it feels.
“He who is not every day conquering some fear has not learned the secret of life.”
Ralph Waldo Emerson
reACTION [to change in the response to stimulus]: Day 15– Thinking Fearlessly
IMAGINE….the choices you would make if you had no fear.
What clothes would you wear tomorrow if everyone were sure to approve?
What music would you listen to if nobody were around?
What books would you read if you knew no one would judge you?
What position would you take if all were guaranteed to agree?
What would you begin tomorrow if everyone would celebrate you for it?
The longer we hold onto our fears the weaker we become. Fear dies in the face of action.
Choose one of the above and ACT on it before the day is over.
One foot in front of the other.
