[photo] That’s me counting and recording miracles last Saturday.
I know what you’re thinking, “she’s flipped her cookies!” It sounds a little unusual I admit, and not something I’ve done before. But for 24 hours it’s my project, a test and reminder from E Squared, a book I read a few months ago.
Click for Red Shoe review and summary. The 10 second version is this — Pam Grout author of E Squared suggests that our reality is determined by the lenses we are currently wearing (ie fearlessness, fear, abundance, scarcity, loss, win etc…). Lenses, of course, can be switched/changed/improved. She offers an experiment to support this which 3 friends and I performed and found to be true. I decided to put her theory under the microscope once again for further examination and testing. This time wearing MIRACLE lenses.
If proven a second time I stand to win big in the miracle department AND who wouldn’t be up for that?!!
A Test. MIRACLE lenses. 24 hours.
Saturday April 18, 2015 – My day begins at 7:00 am waking up after n-i-n-e hours of uninterrupted, restful, sound, deep sleep! This is truly a MIRACLE! The melodic, chirpy sounds of a bird choir waft in through open windows. I glance outside and see clear blue sky, the kind that makes you take a deep breath and smile. I make my way downstairs, sunbeams cutting swaths across each room…miraculous. I sip hot water and lemon and open the newspaper. The Vancouver Sun has 5 good news stories out of 6 on its’ front page. My faith in miracle lenses is deepening by the minute and it’s only 7:45 am. Next up – my husband and I embark on our weekly pilgrimage to the Farmer’s Market and hit not a stitch of traffic, find a parking spot right away, intermingle with happy, upbeat farmer’s market types, and move from stall to stall loading up on the most colorful, nutritious, yummy food on the planet. I hit my favourite food truck, order beet fries and marvel at how they can possibly make beets taste this good! Count – 10 Miracles
Once home we set to work doing the spring garden clean up…new life shoots are everywhere they return year after year stronger and more robust than before. As the days and weeks go by they will grow to full size, the garden will come to life with gorgeous foliage, beautiful scents and butterflies, birds, bees, ladybugs will make it their home. I reflect on just how miraculous this is.
Saturday night we watch the movie WILD, I’d read the book a year ago and had forgotten what a journey Cheryl Strayed undertook – it was a miracle she kept going considering the challenges she faced. It was indeed a miracle she was able to find peace, write her story, find a publisher, have it optioned and made into a major motion picture by Reese Witherspoon’s production company where it would provide hope and inspiration to millions of people around the world.
I went to bed and slept soundly for the second night on a row.
FINAL COUNT – 20 MIRACLES
SUMMATION – What I got from my 24 hour MIRACLE project was that miracles happen every day. They are alive and well and living among us. They come in big and small packages. Big miracles are where people are healed, saved and rescued. Small ones are what I saw but without the miracles lenses they would have been overlooked and unseen.
I challenge you to put on miracle lenses today. Open your mind to the reality, that we are surrounded by miracles. You will see life in a brand new perspective with these lenses. Your life will be filled with the possible not the impossible. Bonus – as you see the miracles in daily life, they multiply.
I’m still sleeping soundly – 5 days and counting (you have no idea what a MIRACLE that is)! zzzzzzzzzzzz
