Life has a way of providing the lessons we need. That’s if we slow down long enough to hear the whispers and see the opportunities. For me it took finding out I needed heart valve surgery to put this lifelong Goer and Doer on pause, ready to learn and listen.
The last 7 months, primarily spent waiting for life altering surgery (2 months ago), were transformative. I went from totally terrified to completely at peace. I glimpsed my purpose and the reason I’m here. I grew. I reaffirmed beliefs and uncovered truths.
GRATITUDE is the only way to go…expressing gratitude for what we have in our lives creates boundless JOY. It also creates more to be grateful for.
GRATEFUL FOR THE LITTLE THINGS….there is such joy and comfort in the little things…..the ordinary things… the things we often over look or take for granted. I took off the macro and put on the micro lenses. I was amazed at what I saw. I realized that what made my heart sing and flooded me with immediate peace were the small things…..the familiar ping of a text message from my daughter, the reconnecting time with my husband everyday at 4:30, our little mutt greeting me with overwhelming happiness every morning.
Y’GOTTA KEEP TRYING UNTIL YOU LEARN TO MEDITATE – I can’t tell you how many times I’d tried to mediate. I never quite got the hang of it. My deep breaths had a habit of triggering hyperventilation and my mind refused to be still. Obviously I had a long way to go! I gave it another try. I desperately needed to bring stillness and peace to mind and body and diffuse the raging fears that were threatening to either sweep me away or drive me crazy. Luckily I got it! Fears were squelched by stillness and the gates to gratitude, love and joy were flung open.
WHEN READY THE MESSENGER APPEARS– In this case messenger(s) – two meditating friends became my guides (once I asked). They provided me with everything I needed to create the beautiful stillness. If you are interested let me know and I will pass along.
A GREEN DRINK MAKES YOU FEEL GREAT INSTANTLY – there’s something about a green drink that just makes you feel healthy and well…not to mention giving a noticeable glow which is kinda nice. I’ve been juicing for 3 years and the green drink never disappoints (even after heart surgery)!
My life has changed in the last few months and I sense it’s only the beginning. I hope it continues to be a time of accelerated growth and understanding. I’m looking at it as a Re.Start of Life Part II. I believe we all have a purpose or a calling. We move forward in life gaining insights, learning lessons so that we can live our life on purpose, infuse meaning into all we do and bring forth our gifts so we can best serve.
If I continue listening for whispers and watching for opportunities and asking, “How can I serve?” all will be revealed. I know this to be true.
Grateful to be back!
